Ana Romero Challenges You!

Ana Romero

Rowing experience:

I was born in Madrid, Spain and I have lived in Maastricht for 8 years now. I started rowing at the age of 12 and this is my second year as a member of the MWC Junior Race Rowing team. I had no idea what rowing was until two girls from school introduced it to me and I fell in love with it. I haven’t been able to do many races because everything was cancelled. We did participate in the WinterWedstrijden. Despite the fact that this was online we really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun.

Age:

15

What does rowing mean to you?

Rowing to me is all about the team. I love the social aspect of it and how close I am with my teammates. My family tells me that I spend more time with my Team than with them. We all share the same passion and connect very well.

What do you like about the Virtual Head of the River 2021?

I like the variety. You have different options and it also allows everyone to participate. Long distances for the experienced, short distances for the beginners. Everybody has a chance to participate.

In what field do you want to participate?

We are not sure yet. Definitely in the 8 km skiff and maybe 4 km in the double.

Who do you want to challenge?

I want to challenge my team and all girls < 16 around the World!
