Registration opened on February 1

Preparations for the Head of the River Amstel on March 19th and 20th are in full swing. We are excited to be organizing this year’s race in-person and on the river. We will be sure to closely follow the government measures regarding corona so please keep an eye on our website for updates.

Registration opened on February 1

The registration for the Head of the River Amstel of March 19th and 20th opened on February 1st.

You can register by sending your boat and crew details to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Teams can register up until March 12.

New classification Men's Veteran field

The (men's) Veteran 8+ field is normally split into two fields. To reduce the pressure on the blocks we have decided to divide the field in three. The fields will be: Veterans A-C (Sunday block 1), Veterans D-E (Saturday block 2), and Veterans F and older (Saturday block 1). This new division may be important for the decision regarding allocation of boats within clubs.

Passing your target time for the draw

Normally, a weighted draw is made based on the results of the previous race. Unfortunately, the previous on river Head was too long ago to serve as a basis for this year’s draw. We ask veteran teams to include their target time when registering. Starting positions of all other veteran teams will be drawn behind the seeded teams. For the other fields, an open draw applies. When registering more than one team in the same field, the team numbering of the club will be used.
